Operation Desert Storm
The Gulf War was an armed conflict between Iraq and a 42-country coalition led by the United States, with two key phases: Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. The war began on August 2, 1990, when Iraq, governed by Saddam Hussein, invaded neighboring Kuwait, and ended on February 28, 1991, with the American-led liberation of Kuwait. The coalition's efforts were met with international condemnation, including the adoption of UN Security Council Resolutions 660 and 661, and the imposition of comprehensive sanctions against Iraq. The conflict saw the introduction of live news broadcasts from the front lines, the use of cameras onboard American military aircraft, and some of the largest tank battles in American military history.learn more on wikipedia
