Nunes Memo
The Nunes memo is a four-page document written by Devin Nunes' staff and released by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee on February 2, 2018. The memo alleges that the FBI relied on questionable sources to obtain a FISA warrant for Trump adviser Carter Page in 2016. Nunes, a supporter of FISA surveillance extension, stepped aside from chairing the House Intelligence Committee's Russia investigation due to ethics concerns. Republican legislators claimed the memo presents evidence of FBI abuse of the FISA warrant process, while Democrats argued it was a partisan attempt to discredit the Special Counsel investigation. Trump approved release of the memo despite FBI and Intelligence Community objections, and Democrats released a rebuttal memo which was initially blocked but later released after redaction.learn more on wikipedia
