Newnew Polar Bear
Newnew Polar Bear is a Hong Kong-registered feeder container ship with a container capacity of 1,620 TEU and a deadweight tonnage of 15,952 tons. The ship is 169 meters long, 27.2 meters wide, and has a displacement of 23,847 tonnes when loaded to the maximum draught of 9 meters. It has a crew of 17 and is powered by a single low-speed two-stroke crosshead diesel engine driving a controllable pitch propeller. Newnew Polar Bear was previously named Reinbek, Cast Prestige, Baltic Fulmar, and was built in 2004 for Hansa Hamburg Shipping International. The ship has had a number of charters and reflags, and was sold to Hainan Xin Xin Yang Shipping in June 2023 and renamed Newnew Polar Bear. In October 2023, Newnew Polar Bear was suspected of involvement in damage to the Balticconnector natural gas pipeline and telecommunication cables in the Gulf of Finland.learn more on wikipedia
