New Testament
The New Testament is the second division of the Christian biblical canon and discusses the teachings and person of Jesus as well as events relating to first-century Christianity. It is a collection of 27 Christian texts written in Koine Greek by various authors, including four gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, and the Book of Revelation, which were formally recognized by the 4th century AD. The New Testament was transmitted through thousands of manuscripts in various languages and contains variants, with its textual criticism using surviving manuscripts to reconstruct the oldest version feasible and to chart the history of the written tradition. The word testament in the expression "New Testament" refers to a Christian new covenant that Christians believe completes or fulfils the Mosaic covenant, while the word covenant means 'agreement' from Latin, and its use in the New Testament is a reinterpreted view of the Old Testament covenant with Israel.learn more on wikipedia
