Nevatim Airbase
Nevatim Airbase is an Israeli Air Force base located 15 km east-southeast of Beersheba in the Negev desert. It is one of the largest airbases in Israel and has three runways of different lengths. The base has a history dating back to 1947, when a rough runway was built for the Sherut Avir, the air wing of the Haganah. It was reopened in 1983 as a modern airbase with two runways, and has since been used for various military operations, including the attack on the Iraqi nuclear reactor Osirak in 1981. In 2016, the base began receiving F-35I stealth fighter jets, which are being used for combat operations, including against Iranian targets in Syria and Iraq. The base also hosts transport and tanker aircraft, as well as reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft.learn more on wikipedia
