Nazi SS
The Schutzstaffel, commonly referred to as the SS, was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany and German-occupied Europe during World War II. It began as a small guard unit known as the Saal-Schutz in 1923 and was later reformed and named the Schutzstaffel in 1925, with Heinrich Himmler as its director. The SS grew from a small formation to one of the most powerful organizations in Nazi Germany, responsible for security, mass surveillance, and state terrorism. Its two main constituent groups were the Allgemeine SS and Waffen-SS, with the latter consisting of combat units with a sworn allegiance to Hitler. The SS was responsible for the genocidal murder of an estimated 5.5 to 6 million Jews and millions of other victims during the Holocaust, and was found to be a criminal organization by the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg.learn more on wikipedia
