NOTAM
NOTAMs are notices filed with aviation authorities to alert pilots of potential hazards along a flight route or at a specific location. They contain information on the establishment, conditions, or changes to aeronautical facilities, services, procedures, or hazards. NOTAMs are created and transmitted by government agencies and airport operators under guidelines specified by the Convention on International Civil Aviation (CICA). The NOTAM system has undergone changes over the years, including the development of web-aware systems and recent initiatives to reform the system in response to criticism about its effectiveness. NOTAMs are used for various reasons, including to alert pilots to hazards, and are typically exchanged over Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) circuits or accessed through software by pilots.learn more on wikipedia
