Mount Ontake

Mount Ontake is a 3,067m high mountain and volcano located in Japan, it is the 14th highest mountain and second highest volcano in Japan after Mount Fuji. It is located around 100km northeast of Nagoya and has five volcanic crater lakes, with Ni no Ike being the highest mountain lake in Japan. The mountain is considered sacred and has been a site for shugendō practices, where actors and artists go to get divine inspiration.
