Mount Ibu

Mount Ibu is a stratovolcano located on Halmahera island in Indonesia, characterized by a truncated summit with nested craters and a large parasitic cone. The volcano is part of the Pacific Ocean's "Ring of Fire" with 127 active volcanoes. It has shown increased activity with 21,100 recorded eruptions in 2023, and the Volcanological Survey of Indonesia raised its alert level to Red/IV in 2024 following multiple eruptions.
