Mount Gerizim

Mount Gerizim is a mountain located in the West Bank, approximately 881 meters above sea level, and is considered the holiest place on Earth by the Samaritan people. It is mentioned in the Bible as the location of ceremonies of blessings and cursings, where the Israelites celebrated their entry into the Promised Land. The mountain is sacred to the Samaritans, who regard it as the location of the holy temple and the site of the near-sacrifice of Abraham's son Isaac. The Samaritans still celebrate Passover with a lamb sacrifice on the mountain and ascend it three times a year. The mountain is currently the center of Samaritan religion and is home to the Samaritan village of Kiryat Luza and the Israeli settlement of Har Brakha.learn more on wikipedia
