The Tesla Model S is a battery-electric, four-door full-size car produced by Tesla since 2012. It was initially developed under the codename WhiteStar, with Henrik Fisker as the lead designer, but was later replaced by Franz von Holzhausen in 2008. The Model S was unveiled as a prototype in 2009 and production began in 2012 at the Tesla Fremont Factory in California.
