Mexican Revolution
The Mexican Revolution was an armed regional conflict in Mexico from November 1910 to December 1920, which led to the destruction of the Federal Army and its replacement by a revolutionary army. The northern Constitutionalist faction prevailed, drafting the present-day Constitution of Mexico, which aimed to create a strong central government. The conflict resulted in the deaths of around one million people, mostly non-combatants, and saw the transformation of Mexican culture and government. After President Porfirio Díaz's resignation in 1911, a series of governments and power struggles ensued, including the election of Francisco I. Madero, his assassination, and the rise of Victoriano Huerta's counter-revolutionary regime, which was defeated by the Constitutionalist Army led by Venustiano Carranza. Carranza consolidated power, promulgated a new constitution in 1917, and became President of Mexico, serving until 1920.learn more on wikipedia
