Marshall Plan

The Marshall Plan was an American initiative enacted in 1948 to provide foreign aid to Western Europe, transferring $13.3 billion in economic recovery programs to rebuild war-torn regions, remove trade barriers, and modernize industry. The plan operated for four years, replacing the Morgenthau Plan, and was largely replaced by the Mutual Security Act in 1951.
