Manaus-Eduardo Gomes International Airport

The Eduardo Gomes International Airport, located in Manaus, Brazil, is an international airport operated by Vinci Airports. It replaced Ponta Pelada Airport as the main public airport of Manaus in 1976 and was commissioned on March 31, 1976, with a domestic flight operated by a Boeing 727-100. The airport has two passenger terminal buildings, three cargo terminals, and is the third-busiest cargo airport in Brazil, handling goods for export and import. It underwent an investment plan of BRL793.5 million in 2009 to upgrade the airport for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The airport is located 14 kilometers north of downtown Manaus.learn more on wikipedia
