Mactan Cebu International Airport
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport, located on the island of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines, serves as the main gateway to the Central Visayas region. It is the second busiest airport in the Philippines, handling over 10 million passengers in 2017. The airport was opened on April 27, 1966, and has since undergone several expansions, with the latest being the construction of Terminal 2, which was inaugurated on June 7, 2018. The airport is managed by the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority and operated by the GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation. It has been used as a center for air operations for relief efforts, including after Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. The airport has also seen notable aviation events, including the landing of the Antonov An-225 Mriya, the world's longest and heaviest aircraft, on November 12, 2013.learn more on wikipedia
