The MIM-104 Patriot is a mobile interceptor missile surface-to-air missile system manufactured by Raytheon, used by the US Army and several allied states. It was developed in the 1970s and 1980s, replacing the Nike Hercules and MIM-23 Hawk systems, and has been widely exported. The system has been used in combat, including against Iraqi missiles in the 2003 Iraq War and Houthi missile attacks in the Yemen conflict, achieving its first undisputed shootdowns of enemy aircraft in 2014.
