M8 Junction 5

The M8 motorway in Scotland is the country's busiest motorway, spanning 60 miles and connecting Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was constructed in stages between 1965 and 1980, with significant upgrades and extensions completed in 1992, 1995, and 2011, including a new junction on the approach to the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow and a 4-mile eastern extension from Newbridge to the Edinburgh City Bypass. The final section between Newhouse and Baillieston was completed in April 2017.
