London St Pancras International
St Pancras railway station is a major central London railway terminus on Euston Road in the London Borough of Camden. It serves as the terminus for Eurostar services from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands to London, as well as providing services to Leicester, Corby, Derby, Sheffield, and Nottingham on the Midland Main Line, and cross-London services to Bedford, Cambridge, Peterborough, Brighton, and Gatwick Airport. The station was constructed by the Midland Railway in 1868 and was designed by William Henry Barlow, featuring a large enclosed space with wrought iron pillars supporting a single-span roof. After being damaged in World War I and World War II, and facing demolition plans in the late 1960s, a campaign led by the Victorian Society saved the station and it was awarded Grade I listed status. In 2007, the station underwent an £800 million refurbishment to become the terminal for Eurostar services and domestic trains to the north and south-east of England, featuring 15 platforms, a shopping centre, and a coach facility. The station is owned by HS1 Ltd and managed by Network Rail (High Speed).learn more on wikipedia
