Les Diables

The film Les Diables is a 2002 French drama film directed by Christophe Ruggia and starring Adèle Haenel and Vincent Rottiers. The story revolves around Joseph, a 12-year-old boy who runs away from a series of children's homes with his autistic sister Chloé, in search of their parents they never knew. As Joseph's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent, Chloé's carer helps her make progress, but Joseph resents this interference. The siblings' situation worsens when a figure from their past appears, leading Joseph to lash out and flee again. They meet up with a runaway named Karim, who has big plans to make money, and Chloé leads them to a house she believes to be their home, where Joseph sets fire to it. Chloé is placed in a secure psychiatric facility, and Joseph descends further into depression and violence. He is eventually freed by Karim's gang and reunites with Chloé in a city tunnel, where they vow to make money and buy a home.
