Launch Complex 39B

Launch Complex 39B, located at the Kennedy Space Center, is the second of three launch pads designed for the Saturn V rocket, which launched the Apollo program missions to the Moon in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The pad was used for 53 Space Shuttle launches from 1986 to 2006 and was reconfigured for use with the Ares I rocket in the Constellation program before being reconfigured again for the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which was launched as part of the Artemis 1 mission in 2022. Currently, the pad is configured for use with the SLS rocket, and NASA has removed the Fixed Service Structure from the pad to make it available to multiple types of vehicles.learn more on wikipedia
