Landtag
The Landtag is the legislative assembly or parliament of a federated state or subnational self-governing entity in German-speaking nations, typically a unicameral assembly with non-federal legislative competence. It is composed of the words "Land" (state, country, or territory) and "Tag" (day), reflecting its role as a representative assembly of the state. The Landtag has a history dating back to the Imperial States of the Holy Roman Empire, where it was a class-based assembly defending the interests of the nobility and clergy, and later evolved into a democratic assembly in the German-speaking lands, with the first constitution passed in Nassau in 1814 and all German states having Landtage as legislative authorities from 1871 to 1933, when they were dissolved and replaced by a reconstituted Reichstag.learn more on wikipedia
