Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework
The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) is an agreement adopted by the 15th Conference of Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity on December 19, 2022. The framework is considered a "Paris Agreement for Nature" and aims to address the biodiversity crisis, with four global goals and 23 targets to be achieved by 2030 and 2050. The goals include halting and reversing biodiversity loss, achieving nature recovery, and protecting 30% of Earth's terrestrial and aquatic areas. The framework is not legally binding, but is expected to have a significant impact on countries around the world, leading to changes in economic systems, corporate practices, and governance systems. The framework is seen as a major win for the planet and humanity, and is considered a historic moment in the fight against biodiversity loss.learn more on wikipedia
