Kibbutz Beeri

Be'eri is a kibbutz in southern Israel with a population of 1,071 as of 2022. It was established on October 6, 1946, as one of the 11 points in the Negev and was named after Berl Katznelson, a pen name. The kibbutz has a long history of land reclamation and tree planting, and its economy is based on a cooperative model, with a main source of income from the Be'eri print company. Be'eri was the site of a massacre in 2023 during the Hamas attack on Israel, in which over 130 people were killed.
