Kerch–Yenikale Canal

The Kerch-Yenikale Canal is a maritime shipping canal in the Kerch Strait, connecting the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, built to improve navigation through the shallow Strait of Kerch. The canal, which was dredged from 1874 to 1877, can accommodate vessels up to 215 meters long with a draft of up to 8 meters, with compulsory pilot assistance required.
