Kashmir Valley

The Kashmir Valley is an intermontane valley in northern Jammu and Kashmir, approximately 135 km long and 32 km wide, surrounded by the Himalayas and drained by the Jhelum River. It covers an area of 15,520.3 km² and has an average elevation of 1,850 meters above sea level. The valley has a moderate climate, cool in the spring and autumn, mild in the summer, and cold in the winter, with high relative humidity and precipitation throughout the year.
