Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport is an international airport located 15 kilometers southwest of the center of Barcelona, Spain. It is the second-largest and second-busiest airport in Spain, and the sixth busiest in Europe, handling a record 52,686,314 passengers in 2019. The airport was renamed in 2018 in honor of the first Catalan president under the current Spanish Constitution, Josep Tarradellas, and has been in operation since 1918, with its first airport opening at El Remolar in 1916.
