Jivitputrika Vrat
Jitiya is a three-day-long Ancient Hindu festival celebrated from the seventh to ninth lunar day of Krishna-Paksha in Ashvin month, mainly in Nepal and Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Mothers fast without water for the well-being of their sons. In Jharkhand, the festival is celebrated for eight days, with women collecting seeds, singing songs, and fasting, while in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, it is a three-day festival. In Nepal, married women observe a Nirjala fast and break it the next day, with children who escaped accidents believed to have the blessings of their mother. The festival is associated with a legend of Jimutvahana, a king who sacrificed himself to protect a snake's son from being eaten by Garuda, and mothers fast to ensure their children's well-being.learn more on wikipedia
