Jenin Camp
The Jenin refugee camp is a Palestinian refugee camp located in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, established in 1953 to house Palestinians who fled or were expelled from their homes during the 1948 Palestine War. The camp has a high population density and faces difficult living conditions due to Israeli restrictions, with a high unemployment rate and substandard shelters. It has been the site of several incidents related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the 2002 Battle of Jenin and the 2022 killing of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. The camp has been under Israeli occupation since 1967 and has been a stronghold of Palestinian militants, earning the nickname "the martyr's capital" by Palestinians and "the hornets' nest" by Israelis.learn more on wikipedia
