Jacob Javits Convention Center
The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, commonly known as the Javits Center, is a large convention center on Manhattan's west side, designed by James Ingo Freed and constructed between 1979 and 1986. The 3.3 million square foot space frame structure was named after US Senator Jacob Javits and was initially the city's major convention facility, replacing the New York Coliseum. It is operated and maintained by the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation, with a management team headed by President and CEO Alan Steel, and has undergone expansions, including a recent 2021 addition of 1.2 million square feet. The Javits Center hosts annual events such as the New York International Auto Show and the New York Comic Con, and has a total interior area of 3.3 million square feet.learn more on wikipedia
