Inle Lake

Inle Lake is a freshwater lake located in the Shan State of Myanmar, with a surface area of approximately 44.9 square miles and a maximum depth of 12 feet. The lake is home to a diverse fauna, including over 35 species of fish, 45 species of freshwater snails, and a small endemic freshwater crab. The lake's environment is under pressure due to pollution, siltation, eutrophication, overfishing, and introduced species, including the invasive water hyacinth.
