The Inca Empire was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America, centered on the Andean Mountains and spanning across modern-day Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. At its largest, the empire was comparable to the historical empires of Eurasia, and was able to construct monumental architecture, extensive road networks, and finely-woven textiles without the use of the wheel, draft animals, or writing.
