Hurricane Ida was a Category 4 hurricane that made landfall in Louisiana on August 29, 2021, becoming the second-most damaging and intense hurricane to hit the state on record. At landfall, Ida had maximum sustained winds of 150 mph and a minimum central pressure of 929 millibars, tying the 1856 Last Island hurricane and 2020's Hurricane Laura as the strongest on record to hit Louisiana.
