Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque

The Hagia Sophia is a mosque, museum, and former church in Istanbul, Turkey, considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture and a cultural and historical site. Built by Byzantine emperor Justinian I as a Christian cathedral between 532-537, it was designed by Greek geometers Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles, and served as the ecumenical patriarch's see and the world's largest cathedral for nearly a thousand years.
