Guadalhorce River

The Guadalhorce River is the principal river of the Province of Málaga in southern Spain, originating in the Sierra de Alhama in Granada Province. It flows for 166 kilometers through southern Andalusia before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. The river passes through several towns, forming the comarca of Valle del Guadalhorce, and is known for its scenic canyon, Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, which has walls up to 400 meters high. A portion of the river is diverted to supply water and power to the city of Málaga, and archaeological remains from a Phoenician settlement have been found near its mouth.learn more on wikipedia
