Greatest Generation
The Greatest Generation, also known as the G.I. Generation and the World War II Generation, refers to the demographic cohort born from 1901 to 1927. They were shaped by the Great Depression and were the primary generation composing the enlisted forces in World War II. This generation came of age as early as 1919 and as late as 1945, experiencing rapid technological innovation, growing income inequality, and economic turmoil, including the Stock Market crash. Despite hardships, the literature, arts, music, and cinema of the period flourished, with popular film genres such as gangster films, musical films, and monster films. The Great Depression also influenced literature, and the advent of comic books, jazz, blues, gospel music, and folk music were popular among this generation.learn more on wikipedia
