Google Earth
Google Earth is a web and computer program that renders a 3D representation of Earth based on satellite imagery, GIS data, and aerial photography. The program allows users to explore the globe by entering addresses and coordinates, and can be used to add custom data using Keyhole Markup Language. Google Earth also provides various tools, including a measure distance tool, a night sky viewer, and a flight simulator game. The program has been viewed as a threat to privacy and national security, leading to bans in multiple countries. The core technology behind Google Earth was developed at Intrinsic Graphics in the late 1990s, and was later developed into the Keyhole EarthViewer product by Keyhole, Inc. The product was initially sold to governments and other organizations, but gained popularity after being used by CNN and other news networks during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Keyhole was later acquired by Google in 2004, and the program has since become a popular tool for exploring the Earth and other celestial bodies.learn more on wikipedia
