Fulbright
The Fulbright Program is a United States cultural exchange program aimed at promoting intercultural relations and understanding between the US and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills. Founded by Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946, the program provides scholarships and grants to American citizens and citizens of other countries to study, research, teach, or exercise their talents abroad. The program is administered by cooperating organizations, such as the Institute of International Education, and operates in over 160 countries, with over 370,000 participants since its inception, including 62 Nobel Prize winners and 88 Pulitzer Prize winners. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and receives funding from the United States Congress and partner governments, foundations, and corporations. In 2024, the Russian government declared the Institute of International Education and Cultural Vistas as "undesirable," effectively ending the Fulbright Program in Russia.learn more on wikipedia
