Fort Moore

Fort Moore is a United States Army post in the Columbus, Georgia area, located on the border with Alabama, supporting over 120,000 military, family, and civilian personnel. The post is home to the United States Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, the United States Army Armor School, and the United States Army Infantry School. Established in 1918 as Camp Benning, it was renamed Fort Benning in 1922 after Confederate General Henry L. Benning. In 2023, the post was renamed Fort Moore after Lieutenant General Hal Moore and his wife Julia Compton Moore.learn more on wikipedia
