Fort Liberty
Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg, is a military installation in North Carolina that covers over 251 square miles and is one of the largest military installations in the world by population, with over 52,000 military personnel. The base was established in 1918 as an artillery training ground during World War I, and was named after Braxton Bragg, a former U.S. Army artillery commander. Over the years, Fort Bragg has undergone significant changes, including the addition of new units and infrastructure, and has played a major role in several wars, including World War II, where the population reached a peak of 159,000. Today, Fort Liberty is the home of several major Army units, including the 82nd Airborne Division, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and the Womack Army Medical Center.learn more on wikipedia
