Fawlty Towers
Fawlty Towers is a British television sitcom created by John Cleese and Connie Booth, originally broadcast on BBC Two in 1975 and 1979. The series is set in a fictional hotel in Torquay, Devon, and follows the misadventures of its owner Basil Fawlty, his wife Sybil, and their staff as they deal with demanding and eccentric guests. The show is widely regarded as one of the greatest British sitcoms of all time, and has won numerous awards, including the British Academy Television Award for Best Scripted Comedy. The show's creator, John Cleese, drew inspiration from his own experience staying at the Gleneagles Hotel in Torquay in 1970, where he encountered the eccentric owner Donald Sinclair, who later inspired the character of Basil Fawlty.learn more on wikipedia
