Emmerdale
Emmerdale is a British television soap opera broadcast on ITV, first created by Kevin Laffan in 1972 as Emmerdale Farm. The show is set in the fictional village of Emmerdale, initially in Yorkshire and later renamed Beckindale until 1994. The series was originally intended as a 13-week television series but was extended due to positive viewer response. Interior scenes were filmed at the Leeds Studios, while exterior scenes were filmed in various locations, including Arncliffe, Esholt, and the Harewood estate. The show's format was influenced by Irish soap opera The Riordans and focused on a family, farm, and characters in a nearby village. Over the years, the show's production team made significant changes, including a name change to Emmerdale and more dramatic storylines, which led to increased popularity and consideration as a major British soap opera. Emmerdale won the award for Best British Soap at the British Soap Awards in 2016 and has been broadcasting in high definition since 2011.learn more on wikipedia
