Eisenhower Executive Office Building

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building, formerly known as the Old Executive Office Building and the State, War, and Navy Building, is a U.S. government building located in Washington, D.C., that houses various agencies of the Executive Office of the President. The building was commissioned by President Ulysses S. Grant and constructed between 1871 and 1888 in the French Second Empire style, designed by Alfred B. Mullett, but received significant criticism for its architecture. The building was renovated and restored in the 20th century and was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1969, and was renamed in 1999 in honor of President Dwight D.
