Dusshera

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a major Hindu festival celebrated on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin in the Hindu lunisolar calendar, typically falling in September and October. It marks the end of Durga Puja and Navaratri and is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent. In southern, eastern, northeastern, and some northern states, it commemorates goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo-demon Mahishasura, while in northern, central, and western states, it marks the end of Ramlila and commemorates the deity Rama's victory over the demon-king Ravana.
