Don't Look Up
The film Don't Look Up is a 2021 American apocalyptic political satire black comedy directed by Adam McKay. It stars an ensemble cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Meryl Streep, and tells the story of two astronomers attempting to warn humanity about an approaching comet that will destroy human civilization. The film is an allegory for climate change and a satire of government, political, celebrity, and media indifference to the climate crisis. The movie premiered on Netflix in December 2021, receiving praise for its cast's performances and musical score, but mixed reviews for McKay's satire. Don't Look Up received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won the award for Best Original Screenplay at the 74th Writers Guild of America Awards. The film set a new record for the most viewing hours in a single week on Netflix and became the second-most-watched movie on the platform within 28 days of release.learn more on wikipedia
