Deir al-Balah

Deir al-Balah is a Palestinian city in the central Gaza Strip, located 14 kilometers south of Gaza City, with a population of 75,132 as of 2017. The city dates back to the Late Bronze Age and has a rich history, including a monastery built by a Christian monk in the 4th century AD and a strategic coastal fortress during the Crusader-Ayyubid wars.
