Davison Army Airfield

Davison Army Airfield is a military airport located in Fairfax County, Virginia, serving Fort Belvoir. The airfield was named after Brigadier General Donald Angus Davison, a World War II aviation engineer, and has a single runway with an asphalt surface. It has been used for supporting Army One, the presidential helicopter, for presidents from Dwight Eisenhower to Gerald Ford from 1957 to 1976, before responsibility was transferred to the United States Marine Corps. The airfield is currently operated by the 12th Aviation Battalion, which provides priority regional transport for US Army and Pentagon senior leadership, and is also used by the Civil Air Patrol National Capitol Wing for exercises and flights.learn more on wikipedia
