Dacians

The Dacians were an ancient Indo-European people who inhabited the region of Dacia, located in present-day Romania, Moldova, and parts of Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland. They spoke the Dacian language, which is related to but distinct from the Thracian language, and were influenced by neighboring Scythian and Celtic cultures. The name "Dacians" was used by Romans and Greeks to refer to the people, although they were also known as Getae in Greek writings.
