It has an estimated range of 13,000 to 16,000 kilometers and was first flight tested in 1971, with final tests in 1980. The DF-5 was initially deployed in 1981 and had a range of 10,000 to 13,000 kilometers, targeting western portions of the United States. The DF-5A upgrade increased the range to over 15,000 kilometers and the throw-weight to 10,200 kilograms. The DF-5B variant was introduced in 2015, featuring a MIRV upgrade with the ability to deliver 12 warheads, and the DF-5C variant is currently being tested, also capable of carrying 12 MIRV nuclear warheads.learn more on wikipedia
