Cumberland River

The Cumberland River is a 688-mile-long waterway in the Southern United States that drains approximately 18,000 square miles of southern Kentucky and north-central Tennessee. It flows generally west from its source in the Appalachian Mountains to its confluence with the Ohio River near Paducah, Kentucky, and the mouth of the Tennessee River. The river has been extensively altered for flood control, with major dams impounding areas of the main stem and several of its tributaries. The river passes through several cities, including Nashville and Clarksville, and is known for its scenic beauty, including the 68-foot Cumberland Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the southeastern United States.learn more on wikipedia
