Cuban Revolution
The Cuban Revolution was a military and political overthrow of Fulgencio Batista's dictatorship, which began after the 1952 Cuban coup d'état, and was led by Fidel Castro and his brother Raúl. After failing to contest the coup through Cuba's judiciary, Fidel Castro and Raúl led an armed attack on the Cuban military's Moncada Barracks on 26 July 1953. The Castros fled into exile and returned to Cuba in 1956, accompanied by Che Guevara, and established the 26th of July Movement. The rebels fought against Batista's army in the Sierra Maestra and eventually ousted him on 31 December 1958. After Batista's ouster, the 26th of July Movement established itself as the de facto government, and Castro became the most prominent leader.learn more on wikipedia
